A huge Spring/Summer 2012 trends is floral prints, which Vikram included throughout his collection in fitted Nehru collar jackets, sari blouses, kurtas, and printed saris with broad silk borders.
Menswear mimicked the women’s collection with lace, floral and silk borders as key details. A trend we’re borrowing is layering two or three contrasting printed shawls and dupattas – a simple way to update an older outfit. Style
Note: Don’t throw out your anarkali suits yet. Consider altering bright, heavy embroidered suits by pairing with a more simple gold or cream dupatta with a broad silk border, or add long, fitted sleeves in sheer material to sleeveless outfits.
The focus is on rich fabrics, not crystals or stone embellishments.
While Amrita was wearing a beige golden elegant traditional attire with a draped chunni, Malaika wore a black velvet long -sleeved blouse pairing it with a creamy lehenga, giving her a typical Anarkali look.
INK Infrastructure presents Vikram Phadnis was the second last show of this evening. The show opened with gold and ivory heavily embellished beautiful ethnic ensemble and moved on to clothes with a stunning floral print that I absolutely loved.
With Mallaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora walking the runway, Vikram Phadnis had a star studden front row with Karishma Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Neha Dhupia, Natasha Poonawala and Jugal Hansraj all cheering him on.
Vikram Phadnis showcased his ethnic collection keeping the Indian and earthy attires in mind at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2012 show. Malaika Arora Khan and Amrita Arora walked the ramp adding glamour to the show.
Phadnis told reporters, “Both are like family. They are very energetic and quite different when it comes to style. They are beautiful in their own way.”
